When I perform the poem-out-loud, I let the language – (words, constructs) – take me where it wants to go. I have read all of these poems hundreds of times and have picked readings I particularly like for the posts. Often, I fumble the words or break down in the cadence, and when I hear those “mistakes” they are to my ear perfectly placed . So, I leave them and, in so doing, honor the source.
