DAMSEL

I drew this painting in the midst of a discussion with a friend who takes the conservative position (in a formal debate) that there are only 2 possible genders no matter how the individual feels about who or what they are. You can only be male or female as born even if and when you feel sure you are the opposite of your physiology or a combination of genders.

I sent the attached to him with the underlying intention of making him horny with a depiction of a non-traditional gender and he admitted he did feel a pulse in his groin (so to speak). This, of course, reduces the “debate” or “polemic” to the very basic and perhaps profane terms (not in the sense of vulgar but in the sense of earthly, bestial, animal-nature.)

Once I had gotten past this initial gimmick – I want to really emphasize the beauty of the complete body (body that after millenia is finally complete again) – so I thought I would do it with color washes – wanting to paint outside the lines to express an air/aura of attraction, lust, the pulse. So, I would paint the colors of horniness in particular around erogenous zones. And also, I would paint the DAMSEL TATOO on his LEFT HIP (important as a symbol of the artist – left and from the QOSCO ZONE) – with very detailed, enamel-like thick paint not sure exactly why but I thought I wanted the DAMSEL tatoo to look jewel-like.

Any thoughts you have – especially spontaneous thoughts – are welcome. Gut reactions are always full of wisdom and insight. I don’t need any fancy language etc. Not sure why I have come to you exclusively on this, but I woke this morning from a dream and I feel sure I need to get some feedback from you. So, whatever NO PRESSURE – if the reaction is NO REACTION that will be meaningful in some way I am sure.

Ps – the cool thing is even if I get no further reaction and interaction about the painting, thinking of talking to you about it has produced the description herein.
